Thread Face Lift

Non-surgical face lift

With aging, the loosened skin layers in the facial area sag downwards under the influence of gravity. For people who are uncomfortable with this sagging appearance, thread face lifting (lifting) procedure, that is, non-surgical face lift, is applied. Threads specially produced for the procedure are placed under the skin and the sagging face oval is lifted upwards. Thread suspension can be effective for sagging of the jaw line, eyebrows and neck sagging in the facial area.

How is a thread face lift performed?

The threads are produced from completely dissolvable (polydioxanone-PDO) materials that are used in surgeries and do not pose any risk of allergy. The thread, which is advanced with the help of a guide in the middle layer of the skin, is pulled from the entrance point when it reaches the desired area. As the rope is pulled, it lifts the tissues upwards with the effect of the notches on it. It may often be necessary to place more than one thread at different angles to achieve the desired look. The application is completed under local anesthesia and usually takes about half an hour.

To whom can thread face lift be applied?

Suitable age range for non-surgical face lift method; It is 35-60 years old. However, it can also be applied to older people who do not have much sagging on their faces and do not have a heavy and oily face. People who do not want to undergo face lift surgery or anesthesia, who are afraid of the side effects of the surgery, and who do not want to experience a recovery period may prefer it.

How does thread face lift work?

Within weeks, new collagen bundles form around the thread under the skin. The implanted threads are aimed to increase circulation under the skin, collagen production and skin moisture. With increased collagen production, wrinkles decrease, skin tightening increases and sagging areas are lifted. It may take up to 3 months to see the full effect. Although it varies from person to person, its effect lasts for about 2 years on average.  Even though the effect wears off, the person may look more tense than before the procedure. Thread facelift can be repeated once the effect wears off.

What should I pay attention to after thread face lift?

Thread facelift does not have any serious side effects as long as it is performed under appropriate conditions and correctly. Swelling, bruising, tenderness, slight edema, and dimples called dimples may occur in the application area at the entry point of the thread. All these effects regress within 1-2 weeks and there will be no scar left on the skin at the end of the procedure. After the procedure, the patient can return to her daily life and apply make-up after 24 hours. After the thread face lift procedure, people are advised to avoid dental practices, biting hard foods, lying face down, and situations that cause excessive movement of the facial muscles for 2 weeks.
